Freelance writer Giaco Jake Furino has compiled this compelling interview for Vice's 'The Creator Project' to provide a revealing look at the world of [bootleg Star Wars toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-wars-tamagotchi).

Furino talked to pop artist The Sucklord about his unique appropriated [Star Wars action figures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hot-toys-2) that offer a humorous look a some classic toy characters. The reinterpretations include a classic Storm Trooper done over in a vibrant hot pink 'Gay Empire' version, as well as the character of Boba Fett made to look like a classic Roman statue.

Furino's bootleg Start Wars piece also features a number of [knockoff merchandise designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skullpanda-x-sanrio) that were made to resemble characters from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Besides being poorly made, the figurines are also often incorrectly labeled, with names that hint towards the bootlegger's getting lost in translation while creating these knockoffs.
