The unit is something of a mix between a [picture frame](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/autoheart-picpak-digital-frame) and a flip book that can be outfitted with content from a Boomerang video, GIF or other form of [moving media](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/revivifyai). This is achieved with a 34 frame design that can be outfitted with pictures from a video snippet, which can be animated by simply turning the crank on the side. This enables users to watch the content in a fast or slow manner and encourage them to play with the 'Boomerang Box' instead of simply leaving it as a static piece of decor. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.7/10 - Popularity: 96% | Activity: 96% | Freshness: 9% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Interactive Artwork:** The integration of digital content with tangible art suggests opportunities for the creation of unique interactive experiences. - **Combination Design:** The mix of technology and traditional elements in the 'Boomerang Box' showcases a possible avenue for fusion design innovation. - **Mechanical Animations:** The use of a crank in the 'Boomerang Box' may inspire the development of inventive mechanical mechanisms in digital-to-physical conversion devices. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** The 'Boomerang Box' may appeal to a new demographic of consumers looking for innovative pieces of decor that showcase their unique technology-savvy style. - **Digital Content:** The integration of digital content with physical objects in the 'Boomerang Box' showcases potential for expanding into the creation of more physical digital content products. - **Art and Design:** The 'Boomerang Box' suggests opportunities for artists and designers to create unique interactive pieces that combine traditional and modern elements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [3D-Printed Flip Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stl-sculptures.md) - [Desktop GIF Displayers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cyber-cube.md) - [Sculptural Scrolling Photo Frames](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flash-back-device-concept.md) - [Heartwarming Video Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/video-book.md) - [Digital Collectible Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-figure-box.md) - [Digital Memory Keepers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blissbox.md) - [Projected Photo Canvas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pixybeam.md) - [AI-Powered Color E-Ink Art Frames](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switchbot-ai-art-frame.md) - [Immersive Tablet Picture Frames](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iframix-smart-frame.md)
