# Tapestry-Like Shelving The Bookwave Hanging Storage Suspends Your Reading Material By Meghan Young | Published 2010-01-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookwave-hanging-storage References: [betterlivingthroughdesign](http://www.betterlivingthroughdesign.com/furnishings/bookwave-hanging-storage.html) & [madeindesign](http://www.madeindesign.co.uk/prod-Bookwave--Hanging-storage-reff081001.html) Now that I have my own place, I’m going to have furnish (ok, stating the obvious), but it’s not so obvious which direction I want to go with; but if I choose this Bookwave Hanging Storage as the [focal point](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qurv), I’m sure a theme would start to arise. Absolutely gorgeous, the Bookwave Hanging Storage was designed by Mehtap Obuz. Made from [felt fabric and stainless steel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/entwined-objects), I have to wonder (like BLTD), whether this can be replicated in a DIY fashion. The price tag is pretty hefty. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 29% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Felt Fabric:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop cost-effective and DIY solutions for creating designs using felt fabric. - **Stainless Steel:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new applications and materials to create affordable stainless steel hanging storage solutions. - **Theme-oriented Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design customizable and modular hanging storage options to support various interior design themes. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce innovative storage solutions that blend functionality and aesthetics for stylish home decor. - **DIY & Craft:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop DIY kits and online tutorials for DIY enthusiasts to create their own tapestry-like shelving using felt fabric. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with designers and fabricators to create affordable and customizable stainless steel furniture options for modern living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Room-Dividing Bookshelf Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frquence-shelf.md) - [Sculptural Bookshelves Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-bookshelf.md) - [Speaker-Inspired Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lloyd-tex.md) - [Twisting Donut-Shaped Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hullabaloo-bookshelf.md) - [Abstract Jigsaw-Like Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spectator-shelf.md) - [Living Storage Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treevive.md) - [Folding Steel Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pli-steel-wall-shelf.md) - [Tech-Charging Book Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haaase-liesma-bookshelf.md) - [Dynamic Storage-Display Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelf-life.md)
