# Surreally Spiral Bookstore Installations This Installation Celebrates the Passage Of Time & Space By Rahul Kalvapalle | Published 2021-11-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookstore-installation References: [newatlas](https://newatlas.com/architecture/shenzhen-zhongshuge-x-living-bookstore-spiral-bookcase-design/) & [xl-muse](http://www.xl-muse.com/html/en/index.php?ac=article&at=read&did=295) [X+Living](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deji-plaza-phase-ii), a Chinese company known for its innovative architectural designs and interpretations, has created a magnificently psychedelic bookstore installation that comprises a [gigantic spiraling staircase](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pasona-natureverse-pavilion) that welcomes visitors to completely get lost in the world of books and literature. Located in the Shenzhen Zhongshuge bookshop in the city of Shenzhen, this bookstore installation features handrails that coast along what appears to be a sideways staircase, in an apparent nod to clock hands that signify the passage of time. X+Living has revealed that the combination of staircase sensibilities, spiral shape and hints of clockwork allude to the fact that 'this is a ladder of history that has been built up over countless hours, conveying the sense that history is being pushed through time at a rapid pace.' With its eyecatching design and profound meaning, this surreal bookstore installation aims to draw people into the store's offerings and help them grow their imagination through books.
