The Koffler Centre of the Arts is currently running a series called 'Bookmakers' that allows parents and children to discuss books over breakfast. Designed for children ages seven and under, the series provides a new way for families to bond over literature.

The Bookmakers series is a free event held at Toronto's Artscape Youngplace. The event consists of informal readings and book presentations from authors of influential [children's books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dunkin-x-mindy-kaling). These authors then lead creative writing and drawing activities to help children come up with their own stories. During the event, families are invited to enjoy [breakfast treats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breakfast-club-series) from the Coffee Public café. The idea is to create a welcoming and informal atmosphere for parents and children to explore the world of literature and creative writing.

The event help parents foster a [love of reading](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/book-it-app) at an early age by giving children a chance to interact with the stories they are reading and the authors who wrote them.
