# Page-Preserving Lights The Bookmark Lamp is the Perfect Reader Night Light By Michael Hines | Published 2011-01-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookmark-lamp References: [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2011/01/03/bookmark-lamp-by-leonard-kadid/) & [flickr](http://www.flickr.com/people/leonard_kadid/) If you subscribe to the philosophy of REAM (reading rules everything around me), then you'll love the Bookmark Lamp. Non-REAMers should probably stop reading now. French designer Léonard Kadid has built the Bookmark Lamp using a [bent piece of plywood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp) that uses a [book as its base](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-x-moebe-book-stand). The Bookmark Lamp is great because it encourages reading by only being functional when you have a book on-hand.
