# Landscape Literature Holders Bookends of the Earth by Garth Borovicka Look Like Mini Dioramas By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2013-04-19 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookends-of-the-earth-by-garth-borovicka1 References: [holycool.net](http://www.holycool.net/bookends-of-the-earth/) & [etsy](http://www.etsy.com/shop/GarthBorovicka?ref=seller_info) It's nothing but a joy to see the weird and wonderful ways that artists switch up the traditional bookend with clever designs, and the Bookends of the Earth by Garth Borovicka are definitely no exception. Looking like [mini dioramas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/topographic-coffee-table) of some of Earth's familiar sights, the bookends come in sets of two (of course!) and are made from wood, intricately carved and heavy enough to keep even the most cumbersome of books in place. This comes as a relief to me because I find many bookends only appropriate for novels, while the majority of my books are a bit oversized. Featuring everything from [miniature trees](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treevive) to tiny automobiles, Bookends of the Earth by Garth Borovicka look like an extension of the wonderful worlds that are hidden behind the covers of the very books they hold firmly in place. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Innovative Bookend Designs:** Explore unique and creative designs for bookends that go beyond the traditional form. - **Miniature Diorama Art:** Discover the use of intricate carvings and miniatures to create diorama-like scenes in various art forms. - **Functional Home Decor:** Embrace home decor items that serve a practical purpose while also adding aesthetic value to your space. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Bookend Manufacturing:** Opportunity to create and market innovative bookend designs that cater to diverse consumer preferences. - **Art and Sculpture:** Opportunity for artists to explore miniature dioramas and unique forms of art incorporating intricate carvings and miniatures. - **Home Decor and Furnishings:** Opportunity to offer functional home decor items that combine practicality and aesthetics, appealing to design-conscious consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Greenery Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-propagation-bookend.md) - [Whimsical Theater-Themed Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wicked-bookend.md) - [Parisian Building-Inspired Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paris-bookend.md) - [Minimally Engineered Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firm-book-end.md) - [Versatile Book Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-x-moebe-book-stand.md) - [Reading Book Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-x-moebe.md) - [Modular Wireless Speaker Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beat-bookend.md) - [Sliding Wintery Landscape Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manhwabang-bookshelf.md) - [Book-Shaped Transparent Bookmarks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transparent-bookmark.md) - [Personality-Enhancing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ordo-book.md)
