Although this is not the first, nor will it be the last, that someone reimagines the common book as something other than reading material, this particular book lighting series is one that will hard to top. Simple and stylish, the book lighting features a basic cutout that allows the bulb and [light switch](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delite-20) to poke straight out from. Using classic hardcovers that have been found in thrift stores around San Diego, California, there are a slew of key elements including [color, bulb and texture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-lebow-table-lamp) that come together to create one of these quaint book lighting designs. They would make a great gift. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Upcycled Lighting:** Creating unique lighting designs by repurposing common objects like books. - **Thrift Store Design:** Utilizing thrift store finds to create new and stylish home decor items. - **Quirky Gifts:** Providing unconventional and creative gift options for book lovers. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for innovative designers to create unique lighting solutions using repurposed materials. - **Sustainability:** Promoting the reuse and upcycling of old books, contributing to a more sustainable approach to design. - **Gifts and Novelty:** Catering to the demand for quirky and unique gift items in the book lover community. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Convenient Book Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/android-book-light.md) - [Dynamic Bookend Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stair-table.md) - [Sleek Contemporary Metal-Encased Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/library-lamp.md) - [Novel-Inspired Night Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-prince-night-lamp.md) - [Quirky Common Item Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/table-lamp-lighter.md) - [Recycled Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nytt-lys-collection.md) - [Space-Saving Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacesaving-desk-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Scenic Architecture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-inspired-table-lamp.md)
