Granted, the Book Lamp is not as enlightening as a Faulkner or Hemmingway novel, but a literal interpretation is just as useful. Designed by Myung-Seo Kang, the Book Lamp was inspired by traditional bookbinding techniques. Featuring a [pop-up accordion-like design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tsubomi), it offers a [soft illumination](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-lamp) that is perfect to read in. Well, perhaps not *perfect*, but it would create a [romantic setting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-player) nevertheless. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 10% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Accordion-like Lighting:** The novel accordion lights in the Book Lamp present an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the lighting industry. - **Multi-functional Novelty Products:** The combination of a book and a lamp in the Book Lamp opens up possibilities for disruptive innovation in the novelty product industry. - **Modernizing Traditional Techniques:** The integration of traditional bookbinding techniques in the design of the Book Lamp offers opportunities for disruptive innovation in the traditional craft industry. ### Where This Applies - **Lighting:** The novel accordion lights in the Book Lamp present an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the lighting industry. - **Novelty Products:** The combination of a book and a lamp in the Book Lamp opens up possibilities for disruptive innovation in the novelty product industry. - **Craft:** The integration of traditional bookbinding techniques in the design of the Book Lamp offers opportunities for disruptive innovation in the traditional craft industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Convenient Book Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/android-book-light.md) - [Pop-Up Reading Light Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personal-task-lamp.md) - [Space-Saving Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacesaving-desk-lamp.md) - [Paper-Made Origami Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hanging-origami-lamp.md) - [Light-Equipped Reading Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dasung.md) - [Novel-Inspired Night Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-prince-night-lamp.md) - [Intelligent Pianist Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/benq-pianolight.md) - [Foldable Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-folding-lamp.md) - [Industrial Light-Equipped Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidden-light-chair.md)
