# Triangular Wooden Bookmarks The Book Hook Holds Your Page and Your Novel By Jonathon Brown | Published 2013-01-21 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/book-hook References: [lostateminor](http://www.lostateminor.com/2013/01/19/book-hook-a-bookmark-to-rest-your-book-upon/) & [holycool.net](http://www.holycool.net/book-hook-bookmark/) The Book Hook is a new kind of bookmark that flips the script on holding your page. Most bookmarks are useful and simple, but can easily be lost when you're in transit or not paying attention. The Book Hook, on the other hand, would be hard to lose because it is as much a center piece or [decorative home ornament](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wicked-bookend) as it is a bookmark. The concept is simple: when you're taking a break from your book you just place it over the top of this [triangular wooden book mark](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triangle-hanger). The Book Hook comes from Tell Ritterbach and is available in beech, oak or birch wood. Part of the allure of this item is it ensures your book spine will stay in perfect working order while your page is held. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 22% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Decorative Bookmarks:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating unique and visually appealing bookmarks that double as decorative home ornaments. - **Durable Bookmarks:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing bookmarks that not only hold the page but also protect the book spine from damage. - **Wooden Bookmarks:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Designing bookmarks made of sustainable wood materials for an eco-friendly alternative. ### Where This Applies - **Stationery and Giftware:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrating innovative bookmark designs into the stationery and giftware industry. - **Publishing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Partnering with publishers to offer unique bookmarks as promotional items or add-ons to book purchases. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporating visually appealing bookmarks into the home decor industry as functional and decorative accents. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Reading Book Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-x-moebe.md) - [Personality-Forward Bookmark Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humdrum-paper.md) - [Compact Functional Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookmarker-table.md) - [Cheekily Creative Bookmarks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/illustrated-bookmarks.md) - [Versatile Book Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-x-moebe-book-stand.md) - [Minimalist Greenery Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-propagation-bookend.md) - [Minimally Engineered Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firm-book-end.md) - [Book-Storing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookgroove-bookrack.md) - [Tech-Charging Book Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haaase-liesma-bookshelf.md)
