# Skateboard Book Rests These Book Ends are Stable and Skater-Savvy By Thomas Wade-West | Published 2013-10-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/book-ends References: [fancy](http://fancy.com/things/452740653621713993/Tail-and-Nose-Bookends-by-Skate-Home) For those that enjoy reading and are interested in adding some flair to their book shelves, consider this tail and nose skateboard book end unit. The bookend is essentially a full skateboard parted in half, with the appropriate bookend pieces. The actual unit is made up of Canadian maple and is assembled with all the standard hardware, alongside trucks and wheels. These bookends come in three different colors: red, maple and dark brown. The skateboards come from actual skateboard units (rideable) which are then appropriated for these usages. The wheels on these book ends do not move however, making your books secure and sturdy. The actual bookends themselves are made up of stainless solid steel and a sleek black design. These book ends will have every skater-book nerd in awe. This would make for a great gift. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Skateboard Bookend Trend:** Opportunity for skateboard companies to repurpose old boards and create functional bookends for skate and book enthusiasts. - **Functional Art Trend:** The convergence of function and art offers opportunities to repurpose everyday items into aesthetically pleasing objects that serve a purpose. - **Upcycling Trend:** Opportunity to upcycle old skateboard parts and other materials into new and innovative products that appeal to niche audiences. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Skateboard Industry:** An opportunity to repurpose old skateboards and create unique products for skate enthusiasts. - **Home Decor Industry:** Innovative and functional products for home decor enthusiasts. - **Sustainable Fashion Industry:** An opportunity to upcycle materials and create unique sustainable fashion accessories for a niche audience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Landscape-Inspired Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waves-and-sun-bookends.md) - [Minimally Engineered Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firm-book-end.md) - [Reading Book Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-x-moebe.md) - [Versatile Book Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-x-moebe-book-stand.md) - [Whimsical Theater-Themed Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wicked-bookend.md) - [Minimalist Greenery Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-propagation-bookend.md) - [Modular Wireless Speaker Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beat-bookend.md) - [Book-Storing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookgroove-bookrack.md) - [Parisian Building-Inspired Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paris-bookend.md)
