Designed by Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay, the piece was inspired by the weaving loom. The shelf contains red strings with sliding stoppers. When a book is placed on one of the stoppers, the book suddenly looks like it's [floating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-bench). In it's nude bookless form, 'Bloom' looks like a Japanese candlestick chart with the stoppers forming a mesmerizing pattern. The black stoppers on each group of strings can be adjusted to any height in order to make the bookshelf uniquely yours. The versatility of this shelf means that you can make a piece of art, a dynamic organization system or both. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Anti-gravity Book Displays:** Opportunity for innovation in book display technology by incorporating floating bookshelf designs. ### Who This Affects Most - **Design:** Design industry can explore new possibilities in creating visually captivating book displays. - **Furniture:** Furniture industry can develop floating bookshelf products that combine functionality and artistic aesthetics. - **Retail:** Retail industry can enhance the shopping experience by incorporating anti-gravity book displays that attract attention and create a unique atmosphere. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Bookshelves Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-bookshelf.md) - [Dynamic Architecturally Strong Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dogma.md) - [Versatile Book Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-x-moebe-book-stand.md) - [Dynamic Storage-Display Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelf-life.md) - [Book-Storing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookgroove-bookrack.md) - [Dynamic Geometric Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cheft.md) - [Minimalist Bookish Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimal-bookshelf.md) - [Book-Shaped Transparent Bookmarks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transparent-bookmark.md) - [Abstract Jigsaw-Like Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spectator-shelf.md)
