# Anatomy-Inspired Furniture The Bone Lounge By Dima Loginoff By Noora Abu Eitah | Published 2008-07-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bone-sofas-bone-lounge-by-dima-loginoff References: [translate.google](http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http://www.trendsnow.net&langpair=fr|en&hl=fr&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=/language_tools) Russian designer Dima Loginoff, developed the “Bone Lounge” project, which is a sofa inspired by the structure of bones. The sofa has a hollow interior and a porous surface. As you can see in the pictures, it has multi-coloured stripes that give it a stylish look. The concept for this design began in 2007, and made its debut at the Grand Prix Awards. The only negative critique I have for this sofa is the great distance between the two seated people on the sofa. I can see it in coffee shops, but not in a home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Anatomy-inspired Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating furniture designs inspired by natural structures like bones. - **Porous Surfaces:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Exploring the application of porous surfaces in various industries, such as furniture, to enhance aesthetics and functionality. - **Multi-coloured Stripes:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporating multi-coloured stripes into product designs to create visually striking and unique aesthetic experiences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Rethinking traditional furniture design principles by drawing inspiration from natural structures like bones. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introducing furniture designs with porous surfaces and multi-coloured stripes to create visually interesting and functional interior spaces. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Experimenting with unconventional furniture designs, such as the Bone Lounge, to offer unique and conversation-starting home decor options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Organically Shaped Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/repose-sofa.md) - [Anatomical Lounge Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/himalaya-pelvis-chair.md) - [Reimagined Monolithic Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fossil-furniture.md) - [Plush Sculptural Lounge Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rokko.md) - [Ribbed-Cushioned Couches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/note-design.md) - [Oblong Color-Blocked Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meritalia-morphologica-collection.md) - [Snowfall-Inspired Sofa Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snowhouse-sofa.md) - [Structural Beanbag Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brace-lounge.md) - [Stacked Pebble-Like Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/figure-sofa-and-lounge-chair.md)
