# Modern Countryside Homes The Bolton Residence is Full of Bold Minimalist Details By Meghan Young | Published 2015-02-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bolton-residence References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/bolton-residence-naturehumaine/) & [naturehumaine](http://naturehumaine.com/portfolio/bolton-residence/) [Bold minimalism](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marcela-cure) is not something that comes around too often, but that is exactly what is happening inside the Bolton Residence. Full of strong wood, black and white accents throughout the interior, it is a stark contrast of the otherwise unassuming exterior. Granted, even the latter stands out as a [dark structure midst the countryside landscape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/texas-residence) it is apart of. Designed by [Naturehumaine](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palissade), the Bolton Residence is located in Bolton East, Quebec. It is proof that while many people are looking to become one with nature, they are not willing to let go of their urban lifestyles. Yet the design of the Bolton Residence does allow nature to stand out, which shows a conscientious effort to strike a balance between the two. Spacious and airy, the house is perfect for restful getaways. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 80% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Bold Minimalism:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce bold minimalism in various industries such as interior design, fashion, and technology for a sleek and impactful aesthetic. - **Urban-nature Fusion:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create products and experiences that seamlessly integrate urban and natural elements, catering to individuals who want to enjoy both lifestyles. - **Restful Getaways:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop unique accommodation options and services that prioritize relaxation and rejuvenation, tapping into the growing market of people seeking peaceful retreats. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Revolutionize the interior design industry by offering bold minimalist designs that combine simplicity and striking visuals. - **Fashion:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore bold minimalist fashion trends, offering sleek and impactful designs that cater to those seeking a minimalist aesthetic. - **Tourism and Hospitality:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create innovative and restful getaway experiences for travelers who prioritize relaxation, incorporating elements of nature and urban living. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Romantic Countryside-Inspired Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boerum-hill.md) - [Serene Timeless Minimal Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-hkarn.md) - [Contemporary Countryside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-countryside-home.md) - [Barn Home Transformations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bulls-barn.md) - [Lofty Minimalist Living Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-living-space1.md) - [Landscape-Honoring Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/des-forges-residence.md) - [Compact White-Painted Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whitepainted-modern-home.md) - [Nature-Merging Geometric Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neville-park-residence.md) - [Thoughtful Lakeside Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lakeside-living.md)
