# Upside-Down Battlefield Bulbs The Bolidismo El Crimen Lamp Features a Soldier in Combat By Vivian Lau | Published 2012-08-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bolidismo References: [bolidismo](http://www.bolidismo.com/index_new) The Bolidismo El Crimen Lamp is a clever reenactment of armed combat, a tableau that you would be hard pressed to find on another lighting piece. The interesting [light fixture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tangent-lamp) consists of [two parts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luno-lamp), both protruding from a long rectangular base. There is an in-action army man that is hung mid-leap while brandishing a gun that is situated just a foot away from a line of [spherical bulbs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-bulb). The optical illusion created is a mastery of trick on the eyes, as it seems like the lightbulbs are illuminating the soldier's line of fire. As a super contemporary design that acts as part-art and part-functional furniture decor, Bolidismo keeps to its mantra to create unique collections that spark emotional impact. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Military-themed Decor:** Opportunities for creating unique design collections that spark emotional impact with a military theme. - **Optical Illusion Lighting:** Designing optical illusion lighting fixtures to combine art and function. - **Trick on the Eyes Furniture:** Opportunities for creating furniture that uses optical illusions to create a unique visual experience. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Create unique collections for customers looking to add unique military-themed pieces to their homes. - **Interior Design:** Using optical illusion lighting fixtures to create unique design elements in commercial and residential interiors. - **Furniture Design:** Designing furniture pieces that challenge the viewer's perception and create a unique visual experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Brutalist Bedside Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vestige-lamp.md) - [Oversized Pen Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bic-lamp.md) - [Sporty Wall-Mounted Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3dprinted-lamp-1.md) - [Bold Playful Lighting Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-lebow-table-lamp.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Creature-Like Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pink-robots-won.md) - [Interconnecting Component Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizable-table-lamp.md) - [Multifunctional Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-boring-lamp.md) - [Warm LED Artful Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bellboy-table-lamp.md)
