Bold Cultr is a new animal-free, lactose-free brand from [General Mills](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-cider-delights-cake-mix) that makes products like cream cheese alternatives with milk proteins created through precision fermentation. The plain cream cheese alternative makes the most of non-animal whey from food tech company [Perfect Day](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantbased-cheese-products), as well as other simple ingredients such as pea protein, palm oil, starches, cultures and gums.

Knowing that consumers are looking for alternatives to cheese that mimic the taste and texture of dairy, Bold Cultr is working on two additional flavors, as well as animal-free cheese slices and shreds. The cream cheese alternative is available as a D2C product, and it will also be making its way to select retail and foodservice partners, including Minneapolis-based artisan bagel shop [Rise Bagel Co.](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customer-collaboration-hubs) as of early 2022.
