# Flesh Hooking Rituals Summer Suspension Sessions Let the Daring Hang Out By Cowbag | Published 2009-07-21 | Unique Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/body-suspension References: [bizarremag](http://www.bizarremag.com/weird-news/tattoos-body-art/7897/outdoor_suspensions.html) Before I start, I think it’s important to say: don’t try this yourself! That said, I love this collection of images documenting outdoor suspensions - yes, the summer is finally here! Body suspension is a ritual in which people are hung by meat hooks through their flesh. Each suspended person experiences different results from the activity, which is said to take you to another spiritual plain. I agree with the source, in that I find this process a lot more spiritual when taking place in the woods, so much so that I am tempted to try it one day soon. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 73% | Activity: 53% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Outdoor Body Suspension:** Opportunity for companies to provide safe and unique experiences through outdoor body suspension services. - **Alternative Spiritual Practices:** Non-traditional forms of spirituality have a growing consumer base willing to pay for unique experiences and rituals. - **Extreme Wellness Trends:** Pushing the limits of mental and physical endurance to reach a desired state of wellness is a trend that continues to gain traction. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Wellness and Health:** Incorporating extreme wellness experiences into a health and wellness regimen presents a huge opportunity for businesses. - **Travel and Tourism:** Providing unique and culturally significant spiritual experiences through travel and tourism can attract a growing market of consumers seeking alternative experiences. - **Event Planning:** Offering planning and coordination services for outdoor body suspension events provides an opportunity to tap into the rapidly growing experiential events market. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dreamlike Weightless Therapies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aerial-flow-therapy.md) - [Hanging Portal-Like Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/duo-installation.md) - [Raunchy Anime-Inspired Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manuela-soto-sosa.md) - [Resin Gravity Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-great-tree.md) - [Wooden Identity Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hughmanity.md) - [Sea-Inspired Mini Sculpture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-sculptures.md) - [Human Embraced-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallmounted-sculpture.md) - [Artful Suspended Fashion Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invisible-figures.md) - [Suspended Lighting Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-lighting-installation.md)
