# Rotund Layered Seating The Bobby Chair by Twin Design is Inspired by Sir Bobby Charlton By Meghan Young | Published 2014-02-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bobby-chair References: [deconiche](http://www.deconiche.com/bobby-chair-twin-design/) & [twin-design](http://twin-design.co.uk/products/bobby/) From the get go, it is not immediately apparent that the Bobby Chair was inspired by a famous football (soccer) player. It pays tribute to Sir Bobby Charlton, an English former football player regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time, in a chic and stylish way. The Bobby Chair takes on a [circular motif](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chunk-doughnut-chair) and [layered cylindrical cushions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perron-pillo-lounge-chair) that gives it quite the impact. Designed by Twin Design, a studio based in Birmingham, England, the Bobby Chair makes quite the statement. As is written on the design studio's website, "Like Bobby’s shots on the goal, with its curves (in its styling) and power (in its palette), it’s striking! It’s one that will stand out in any corporate or hospitality environment!"
