The knife itself can be opened, closed and maneuvered using one hand -- a major asset to those who find themselves in rough waters. Watermade is designed with boat-building materials such as teak, stainless steel and rubber. With a [spring-like mechanism](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sliding-knife), this handy knife can be easily opened with the simple and swift flick of the wrist. This feature also ensures that a user's fingers are safe and protected from the [sharp blade](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oknife). Additionally, the materials used to build this device make it resistant to salt water and incredibly durable against harsh weather elements. The hand-held boating knife is designed to withstand all of these elements while maintaining its integrity throughout many years. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 89% | Activity: 92% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Durable Boating Knives:** Opportunity for companies to develop innovative, high-quality knives specifically designed for boating and maritime use. - **One-handed Maneuverability:** Potential for companies to create tools and gadgets that can be easily operated with one hand, providing convenience and safety in various industries. - **Weather-resistant Materials:** Market for durable and weather-resistant materials that can withstand harsh conditions in outdoor and maritime applications. ### Who This Affects Most - **Boating and Marine Equipment:** Opportunity for businesses in the boating industry to offer innovative and durable knives for sailors, seamen, and boat enthusiasts. - **Outdoor Gear and Tools:** Potential for companies in the outdoor industry to develop one-handed gadgets and tools that are convenient and safe to use in outdoor activities and adventures. - **Material Manufacturing:** Market for manufacturers to produce weather-resistant materials that can be used in various industries, including outdoor, maritime, and construction sectors. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ultra-Tough Urbanite Pocket Knives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wesn-bornas.md) - [Dynamic Movement Pocket Knives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/craighill-sidewinder-knife.md) - [Sensibly Sharp Elevated Knives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-task-knife.md) - [Elegant Everyday Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/damascus.md) - [3D-Printed Paper Knives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-knives.md) - [Chromatic Compact Outdoor Knives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/james-brand-redstone.md) - [Astronaut Crew Pocket Knives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crkt-mbombo.md) - [Aerospace-Inspired Titanium Knives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/titanium-knife.md) - [Compact Utility Knives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bq-s1-utility.md)
