# Bluetooth-Enabled Public Seating The BoomBench By TrendHead | Published 2008-11-21 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bluetooth-bench-michael-schoner-of-nl-architects References: [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2008/11/20/boombench-by-nl-architects/#more-20177) & [nlarchitects.nl](http://www.nlarchitects.nl/) At long last, people can listen to their own personal music on [public benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leftover-bench). This bench was created by German designer Michael Schoner of NL Architects. What makes this public bench is that it plays music from passing [mobile phones via Bluetooth](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soundboks). Now all youngsters will know where to hang out and play tunes all day long in the park. I can just picture it now. The bench was exhibited at last month's Urban Play 2 event in Amsterdam. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 88% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Bluetooth-enabled Seating:** Create more public seating options with Bluetooth connectivity to enable music and audio streaming. - **Smart Public Furniture:** Introduce smart features in public furniture, such as audio playback, sensors, and connectivity. - **Mobile Device Integration in Public Spaces:** Incorporate mobile devices into public spaces by using Bluetooth technology to enable convenient, on-the-go experiences. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Design trendy and innovative furniture, like Bluetooth-enabled seating, with a focus on sleek aesthetics and modern functionality. - **Smart City Technology:** Develop smart technology solutions for public spaces, with an emphasis on convenience and ease of use. - **Mobile Technology:** Innovate mobile technology to integrate more easily with public spaces, like Bluetooth-enabled seating, for a more seamless on-the-go experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Urban Solar Charging Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perovia.md) - [Muscle Loss-Combating Playground Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playground-bench.md) - [Bike-Friendly Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinajarro-bench.md) - [Rotating Solar-Powered Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-solarpowered-bench-that-spins-ever-so-slowly.md) - [Adaptive Public Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adp-bench.md) - [Rotating Solar Powered Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eness-1.md) - [Bold Motion Bench Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wheelbench-krllermller-edition.md) - [Interaction-Promoting Public Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bench-seating.md) - [Music-Focused E-Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/noordung-boombox.md)
