# Wavy Wood Lighting The Blub Lamps by Fermetti are Cute, Minimalist and Entirely Elegant By Meghan Young | Published 2011-03-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blub-lamps References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2011/03/01/the-blub-lamps-by-fermetti/) & [fermetti.be](http://www.fermetti.be/) I have to say, I don't think that the name of these Blub Lamps do them any justice at all. Except, of course, perpetuate their cuteness factor. With that said, these [pendant lighting fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-bean) may feature a bit of a blob-like aesthetic, but I can't help but view them as elegant pieces of home decor. Designed by Belgian design studio Fermetti, these Blub Lamps are [made out of wood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-soul) and carved in such a manner that they take on different undulating shapes that give it a faint blub effect. Available in four styles, these Blub Lamps range in shapes and sizes that range from slightly detailed to more detailed. Yet overall, the designs are rather [minimalistic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-lighting-design). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalistic Lighting Design:** Designing lighting fixtures with clean and simple aesthetics to create a minimalist vibe in home decor. - **Natural Material Lighting:** Using wood and other natural materials to create unique and eco-friendly lighting designs. - **Organic Shape Lighting:** Creating lighting fixtures with undulating and blob-like shapes to add an organic and artistic touch to interiors. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Incorporating minimalist lighting designs in interior spaces to enhance the overall aesthetic. - **Sustainable Home Decor:** Utilizing natural materials in lighting products to cater to environmentally-conscious consumers. - **Artistic Lighting Sculptures:** Offering unique lighting fixtures with organic shapes that double as art pieces for interior decoration. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Pasta-Inspired Curvaceous Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neotenic-lamp.md) - [Translucent Bulbous Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-glow-light.md) - [Hanging Lantern-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodo-table-lamp.md) - [Turned Wood-Inspired Lamp Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bobine.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubbles-lighting-design.md) - [Retro-Tinged Compact Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lari-mini.md) - [Bamboo-Inspired Glass Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bamboo-forest-glss.md) - [Wooden Pendant Lamp Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-collection-1.md)
