# Softly Petalled Lighting The Blom Table Lamp by Sander Bakker is a Bright Bloom By Meghan Young | Published 2013-12-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blom-table-lamp References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/007405.html) & [splinterseed](http://splinterseed.com/blom/) Inspired by nature, namely the [blooms of flowers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pavo), the Blom Table Lamp is a beautiful light fixture that would brighten up any living space, and not because of its main purpose. Even when not lit, the [organic shape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loops-lamp) introduces a light and refreshing touch to homes. It helps that the soft 'petals' are intricately layered in a captivating way. Designed by Sander Bakker, the Blom Table Lamp rests on three legs with a brightly colored cloth-covered cord that snakes out of it for a bit of contrast. It comes complete with an [eco-friendly packaging design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flatpack-timber-lamp) that is small thanks to the compact nature of the light and its clever instruction design. Made out of high density Polethylene and reconstituted veneer wood, the Blom Table Lamp adheres to a theme of low impact design. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 64% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Nature-inspired Home Decor:** Companies can develop eco-friendly and captivating home decor products inspired by nature like the Blom Table Lamp. - **Intricate Layered Designs:** Intricately layered designs can be incorporated into various home decor products to add captivating visual interest. - **Low-impact Design:** More companies can aim to create eco-friendly and low-impact design products like the Blom Table Lamp to help reduce their carbon footprint. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can explore incorporating nature-inspired, intricate, and eco-friendly design elements in their products to cater to environmentally conscious consumers. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can pay more attention to incorporating lighting fixtures that introduce a light and refreshing touch to homes while also being eco-friendly. - **Sustainable Manufacturing:** Companies specializing in sustainable manufacturing can design products like the Blom Table Lamp using eco-friendly materials and low-impact design to cater to eco-conscious consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Petal-Inspired Glass Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloom-wall-light.md) - [Blooming Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloome.md) - [Plant-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palmetto-lamp.md) - [Miniature Portable Ambiant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossi.md) - [Plant-Based Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantbased-lamp.md) - [Refined Sculptural Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-table-lamp.md) - [Artful Portable Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossom-portable-light.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Flat-Pack Paper Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tsubomi.md)
