The Blob Heater is just that device. Although the sperm-shaped pillow is a little inappropriate looking, it does the trick with its large surface (enough to lay down and then some) and its [interior heating system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infrared-dream-pillow). It comforts in many ways. Designer Sang-Jang Lee says the Blob Heater is a “[hybrid between furniture and electric appliance](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sander-series).” It seems to work quite well. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 32% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Comfort-seating Innovation:** Designing unconventional seating options with added features, like heating systems, to enhance user comfort. - **Therapeutic Technology:** Developing technology that provides physical and emotional comfort and support to people going through difficult times. - **Non-traditional Furniture:** Creating furniture pieces that go beyond functionality and add unique qualities to a space. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture:** Furniture designers and manufacturers can explore creating unconventional seating options with added features. - **Home Appliances:** Home appliance companies can consider incorporating emotional support features, like heating systems, into their products. - **Therapy:** Therapeutic centers and professionals can implement innovative technology that provides emotional and physical support to their clients. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Oversized Hollow Pillow Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floof-snuggle-sack-and-floor-pillow.md) - [Cuddly Body-Conforming Pillows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hugl.md) - [Comforting Pillow-Like Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oa-speaker.md) - [Heated Posture Correction Plushies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/funbaruzu-warmers.md) - [Mailbox-Shaped Water Heaters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/warmflow-messenger.md) - [Silicone Shell Heating Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergostone-pebble.md) - [Emergency Shelter Robot Companions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/power-hug-robot-concept.md) - [Comforting Pillow Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comforting-pillow.md) - [Infrared Heated Pillows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushi.md)
