# Modern Gamer Egg Beaters The BLND Mixer is Inspired by the Nintendo Wiimote By Michael Hines | Published 2012-01-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blnd-mixer References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/BLND-MIXER/1649346) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/rafaelmayani) Gaming and cooking become one-in-the-same in Rafael Mayani's BLND Mixer. Mayani's BLND Mixer is a conceptual handheld mixer inspired by the [Nintendo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gamepad-gaming-controller) Wii's controller. The mixer consists of three pieces that can mix liquids, solids with liquids and cut and mix solid food. The majority of [automatic mixers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ooni-halo-pro-spiral-mixer) are designed in the shape of a power drill. This isn't bad, but the youth of today's world are probably more familiar with a Wii controller than they are with power tools (for better or worse). The BLND Mixer has two attachments and one mixing chamber. The gadget is held overhand and bears a strong resemblance to the Wiimote. Fixing something that isn't broken is a cardinal sin. An exception should be made for the BLND Mixer as it is an awesome update of an existing product rather than a complete rebuild. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 18% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/kitchen) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Hybrid Kitchen Tools-gaming:** Opportunity to create more kitchen tools with modern gaming interfaces to capture the attention of younger audiences. - **Novelty Kitchen Gadgets:** Creating unique, nostalgic gadgets for the kitchen can be a lucrative business opportunity. - **Reinvention of Traditional Products:** There is potential for innovative ideas by reimagining traditional kitchen products and make them more appealing to modern consumers. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Kitchen Appliance Manufacturing:** Collaborating with designers with fresh ideas for reinvented designs can bring new customers and increased revenue for the industry. - **Gaming Accessories:** Marketing and creating products that intersect with the kitchen or other non-gaming related industries can create a diverse audience while boosting profits. - **Product Design Consulting:** Offering product design consulting services to industries looking to create a fresh product that intersects with current trends can ensure a steady stream of income for design consultants. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Industrial Gaming Controller Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dyson-gamepad.md) - [On-the-Go Blending Bottles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-elixir-mixer.md) - [Gaming Console Coffee Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nintendo-fp-coffee-machine.md) - [Industrial Design Blenders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jar-blender.md) - [Countertop Supplement Mixers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brezza-supermix.md) - [Powerful Blender Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pure-power-blender.md) - [AI-Fueled Music Mixer Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/happy-music-mixer-07.md) - [Gaming Console Milk Pitchers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/milk-pitcher.md) - [Ultra-Modern Spiral Stand Mixers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ooni-halo-pro-spiral-mixer.md)
