At this year's Vivid Festival in Sydney, which is described as the meeting place of "art, technology and commerce," Black Star Pastry introduced the world to its 'Glownuts,' a glow-in-the-dark confection.
The donut's creator found himself inspired at last year's festival, noting: "I was thinking hard about a way to tie in food with lights. And glow-in-the-dark popped in my head." The finished product truly glows under a blacklight, thanks to the addition of Vitamin B and yuzu, and its icing is fully edible. Amazingly, no unnatural additives were used in the making of these donuts.
In partnership with Black Star Pastry, N2 Extreme Gelato is also selling a glow-in-the-dark drink of white chocolate and honey to accompany the donuts served at this year's festival.
