# Scarecrows for Cats The 'Black Cat Scat' Shoos Away Kitties With Reflective Eyes By Katherinev123 | Published 2009-09-25 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-cat-scat References: [inventorspot](http://inventorspot.com/articles/anticat_black_cat_scat_frustrates_freeloading_felines_32800) & [stech-tokyo.co.jp](http://www.stech-tokyo.co.jp/fukuron_2scat.htm) The Black Cat Scat is a DIY Kit you use to scare away kitties from your garden. Not being a cat owner, I didn’t realize that the meandering (and ‘littering’) of kitties in gardens was a problem. But since it is, thank goodness for this Black Cat Scat kit. All you need is an empty 500ml plastic bottle, which you attach to the black cat mask in the kit. The mask is designed with glittering, reflective eyes, which, to real cats are incredibly frightening. So bascially, the Black Cat Scat is a cat scarecrow with glitter. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **DIY Gardening Solutions:** Opportunity for developing innovative DIY kits to solve common gardening problems. - **Animal Deterrent Technology:** Potential for creating advanced devices that use technology to deter animals from unwanted areas. - **Eco-friendly Pest Control:** Rise in demand for sustainable and non-toxic solutions to control pests and protect gardens. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Gardening and Landscape:** Innovative gardening products and services that provide effective solutions for garden owners. - **Consumer Electronics:** Development of advanced animal deterrent devices leveraging technology and innovative design. - **Environmental and Pest Control:** Emerging market for eco-friendly pest control products and services. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [L-Shaped Pet Scratching Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/catvas.md) - [Cityscape-Like Cat Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mocats.md) - [UV Crystal Cat Litters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glo-by-boxie.md) - [Dynamic Cat Litter Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pet-object-litter-box.md) - [Halloween-Themed Cat Goods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/raw-emotions-2.md) - [Waste-Activated Digital Trees](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lit-by-sht.md) - [Cat-Friendly Holiday Trees](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-friendly-holiday-tree.md) - [Cat-Friendly Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wisesky-wcat-air-purifier.md) - [Black-and-White Puzzle Brick Cats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuxedo-cat.md)
