Dubbed the 'Tropical Bird,' the pencil holder has a minimalist aesthetic to it due to its sleek line work and the exposed light wood that comprises it. In order to hold as many pencils and other desk accessories as possible, BKID's Tropical Bird is left open along the top, making it function as a sort of narrow bowl. When users add colored pencils to the holder, they end up creating feathers for it in a sense, with the different shades combining to create a decorative look that enhances its appearance rather than making it look cluttered ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Creative Pencil Holders:** Opportunity for designers to create more unique and visually appealing pencil holders. - **Minimalist Desk Accessories:** The trend for consumers seeking aesthetically pleasing yet practical desk accessories continues to grow. - **Decorative Desk Items:** Opportunities exist for designers to create more decorative items that serve a practical purpose, such as the Tropical Bird pencil holder. ### Where This Applies - **Office Supplies Industry:** The office supplies industry can create new products that are both practical and visually appealing, such as the Tropical Bird pencil holder. - **Home Decor Industry:** The home decor industry can create more unique and decorative desk accessories to enhance the aesthetic of workspaces. - **Design Industry:** Designers can take inspiration from BKID's Tropical Bird pencil holder to create new and innovative designs for practical items. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Organized Minimal Pen Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stilo75-pen-holder.md) - [Sculptural Writing Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/experimental-pencils.md) - [Bird-Shaped Food Packagings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bigbilled-bird-food-concept.md) - [Dumpster Pencil Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dumpstuder-pencil-holders.md) - [Off-Kilter Desktop Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concept-pen-holder.md) - [Bird-Shaped USB Flash Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinge.md) - [Artistic Avian Incense Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-incense-holder.md) - [Sculptural Geometric Desk Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kiir.md) - [Modernized Desktop Pencil Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grovemade-x-blackwing-pencil-kit.md)
