# Avian-Collaged Plate Art Jason Miller Fills Plates with Bird Motifs By Simal Yilmaz | Published 2013-01-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bird-motifs References: [booooooom](http://www.booooooom.com/2013/01/10/dishes-by-jason-miller-studio/) & [jasonmiller.us](http://jasonmiller.us/) Jason Miller's ornate dish art project 'Seconds' features wonderful [bird motifs on plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bigbilled-bird-food-concept) within various proportions of the surfaces. His designs are cute and have a delicate and elegant outlook to them. Miller acutely disrupts the traditional designs on the plates or his project's signature bird motifs on tree branches in an irregular pattern. His use of frames on the art's surface is intriguing as much as it is visually stimulating, giving his illustrations a quality of depth. I am especially attracted to the [undefined borders between the dual patterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripples-collection) in each plate. Jason Miller has other dish art projects such as 'Big Fade' and 'Ropes' that are worth viewing. His ornate and classic personal style can be traced throughout his portfolio. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Ornate Dish Art:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating ornate dish art with unique motifs and designs. - **Irregular Pattern Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in using irregular patterns to create visually stimulating designs on plates. - **Undefined Border Integration:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in seamlessly integrating dual patterns with undefined borders in dish art. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the art and design industry by exploring new techniques and materials for dish art. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the home decor industry by incorporating ornate dish art with unique bird motifs into interior design concepts. - **Hospitality and Restaurants:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the hospitality and restaurant industry by offering custom-designed ornate dish art as a distinctive dining experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Origami-Inspired Porcelain Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita.md) - [Revived Mid-Century Serveware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tortugaware.md) - [Repurposed Studio Scrap Pottery](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daon-pottery.md) - [Handmade Dessert Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carolina-k.md) - [Modernism Birdhouse Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dwellings-project.md) - [Sculptural Ceramic Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/office-of-tangible-spaces.md) - [Innovative Ceramic Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-tableware1.md) - [Luxurious Patterned Ceramic Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patterned-ceramic-plates.md) - [Sculptural Mixed-Media Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes.md)
