The eggs have a crisp white exterior that will reveal a [golden yolk](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eggsential-cereal) on the interior that's flavorful and nutritious, which comes as a slightly retro update for the UK market. This is due to the common nature of white hens and white eggs in the UK during the 70s and 80s, which fell out of favor when compared to brown eggs and hens. Commercial Director Matthew Bird spoke on the Bird Bros White Gold eggs saying, "White eggs are produced from white hens and from a bird management perspective, due to their docile nature, are easier to manage, more feed efficient, and capable of producing eggs over a longer laying cycle than brown hens. This improved efficiency will help to support our long-term sustainability goals and ensure our business continues to look at innovation as part of our broader supply strategy." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 24% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Premium Egg Products:** The introduction of Bird Bros White Gold eggs illustrates a shift towards high-end, nutritionally-rich egg selections catering to health-conscious consumers. - **Retro Food Items:** Bird Bros White Gold eggs tap into nostalgia by reviving the popularity of white eggs from the 70s and 80s, appealing to consumers looking for classic culinary experiences. - **Sustainable Farming Practices:** The focus on the efficient production and longer laying cycles of white hens aligns with a broader move towards sustainable agricultural practices in the egg industry. ### Where This Applies - **Poultry Farming:** The resurgence of white hens for egg production highlights advancements in poultry management and efficiency. - **Nutritional Foods:** High-quality, nutrient-dense products like Bird Bros White Gold eggs cater to the growing demand for food items that contribute to a healthy diet. - **Food Nostalgia:** Bird Bros’ revival of retro products such as white eggs reflects trends in food industries leveraging nostalgia to attract customers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Gilded Free-Range Egg Packaging](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bird-bros-gloriously-golden.md) - [British Barn-Laid Eggs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bird-bros-roost-eggs.md) - [Free-Range Private Label Eggs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coop-freerange-eggs.md) - [Farmer-Supporting Eggs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chuckle-eggs-range.md) - [Pasture-Raised Hen Eggs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/happy-egg-pastureraised-eggs.md) - [Sustainably Raised Eggs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/naturegg-omega-plus-solar-free-range.md) - [Pasture-Raised Eggs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/organic-eggs.md) - [Versatile Liquid Egg Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liquid-duck-eggs.md) - [Versatile Frozen Omelettes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frozen-omelettes.md)
