This summer, [Waterford Distillery](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waterford) is releasing a first-of-its-kind Irish spirit with the world's first [biodynamic whiskey](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tairsgeir). Biodynamic: Luna 1.1 is made only with biodynamic barley made by farmers in Ireland who take a holistic, ecological, and ethical approach to farming. Waterford has distilled about 500 barrels of liquid from the biodynamic barley with the intention of creating "a more flavorsome" spirit. While [many wineries rely on biodynamic practices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/2023-pinot-noir), this is the first time whiskey is being shared in the same way.

Increased interest in climate-conscious food and beverages is driving the growth of regeneratively grown products, which appeals to consumers for its "beyond organic" approach to working with the land and the nutrient-dense foods created in the process.
