# Self-Charging Cars Bio Top Concept Car Introduces Self-Generating Wireless Electricity By Susan Read | Published 2009-08-10 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bio-top-concept-car References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2009/08/10/sphere-it-in-the-sky/) & [automotto.org](http://www.automotto.org/entry/bio-top-concept-goes-all-out-on-imagination/) Luis Pinheiro de Lima has designed a car that generates its own [wireless electricity](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-powers)! The “Bio Top” concept car has three wheels: two in the front, and one [spherical wheel in the back](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sphere-vehicle) that offers improved maneuverability. What’s more, it actually [charges the electric car battery](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mag-drive) as it goes! If that’s not enough to float your boat (or your futuristic hover pod), check out the Bio Top’s video-game inspired steering. Forget the conventional foot-pedal gas and break system; the future of steering, according to de Lima, involves a hand controlled speed/stop system. The brakes are right there on the steering column. It looks like cruising in your Bio Top will be just like riding a bike - only about a hundred times cooler. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Self-generating Wireless Electricity:** The concept of self-generating wireless electricity in cars presents disruptive innovation opportunities for the automotive industry. - **Improved Maneuverability:** The development of cars with spherical wheels that offer improved maneuverability opens up disruptive innovation opportunities for the transportation industry. - **Video-game Inspired Steering:** The integration of video-game inspired steering systems in cars creates disruptive innovation opportunities for the automotive technology industry. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Automotive:** The automotive industry can explore the disruptive innovation opportunities offered by self-generating wireless electricity and improved maneuverability technologies. - **Transportation:** The transportation industry can leverage the disruptive innovation opportunities presented by cars with improved maneuverability. - **Automotive Technology:** The automotive technology industry can capitalize on the disruptive innovation opportunities arising from the integration of video-game inspired steering systems in cars. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Solar-Powered Autonomous Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/autonomous-vehicle-concept.md) - [Solar-Powered Sleek Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-solaris.md) - [Automatic EV Charging Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/witricity.md) - [Inductive Charging Electric Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vixen-electric-sports-kit-car.md) - [Golf Car Charging Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-golf-car.md) - [Solar-Powered Autonomous Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polestar-cladrus.md) - [Future-Facing Charging Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-charger-concepts.md) - [Parking Spot Vehicle Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/watt-ev-charger.md) - [Wireless Robotic EV Charges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/evbuddy.md)
