Seismograph compiles data taken from San Francisco police reports of [stolen bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/objects-from-frames) and maps them, so you can see where the thievery hot spots are and know where not to park your ride. While the website creators are not entirely sure what their website is going to be about, they do believe in thought-provoking [visual representations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zipcode-heat-map) and seek to 'tell great stories based on real data.' While the data is not comprehensive, the map does demonstrate some interesting bike theft patterns. For example, a lot of bikes have been taken near the San Francisco General Hospital. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Bike Theft Tracking:** Opportunity for companies to develop innovative bike theft tracking systems using real-time data. - **Data Visualization:** Opportunity for companies to create visually engaging platforms that showcase real-time data to inform users' decision-making. - **Crime Prevention Apps:** Opportunity for companies to develop mobile applications that provide real-time crime alerts and navigation routes to avoid crime-prone areas. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Bicycle Security:** Opportunity for companies to create and improve bicycle lock systems, ensuring better protection against theft. - **Smart City Solutions:** Opportunity for companies to develop smart city solutions that use real-time data to enhance public safety and security. - **Data Analysis and Visualization:** Opportunity for companies offering data analytic tools and visualization platforms to help cities and individuals understand patterns and make informed decisions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Smart Bike Docking Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-bike-docking-station.md) - [Ultra-Secure Gravel eBikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultrasecure-gravel-ebikes.md) - [Traffic Fatality Visualizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roadwayreport.md) - [Engaging Travel Maps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/travel-maps.md) - [Real-Time Monitoring Bike Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elios-crossover-lock.md) - [Hidden Seat Bike Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lockinvisible.md) - [Zip Code Visualizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zipcode-heat-map.md) - [Slap-Band-Inspired Bike Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slapstick-smart-bicycle-lock.md) - [Pathfinding Algorithm Websites](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/map-pathfinding-visualizer.md)
