# Hands-Free Cyclist Straps The Bike Lift and Carry Makes Walking Your Bike a Breeze By Michael Hines | Published 2014-08-06 | Updated 2014-08-10 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bike-lift-and-carry References: [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2014/08/05/bike-lift-carry-mukomelov-bicycle-strap/) & [mukomelov](http://www.mukomelov.com/en/) With [cycling as popular as it is](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jimove-lc2) these days, you've got to wonder why something like the Bike Lift and Carry hadn't been created until now. Ukrainian design studio Mukomelov created the device, which is essentially a [roll-up felt strap](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phone-sling) like the one used to corral people in lines at movie theaters. The strap affixes to the frame and is adjustable for different heights. Once mounted on the frame, the strap can be adjusted for length and locked into place by pressing a button. The simple design is deceptively strong and can support a bike of up to 68 pounds. It is relatively small and doesn't look to add much in the way of weight to a bike. The Bike Lift and Carry also comes in [multiple colors to match your ride](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/strap-accessory-for-ereaders). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 56% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Hands-free Cyclist Straps:** Opportunity for innovative designs that make cycling more convenient and efficient. - **Bike Accessory Innovations:** Creation of new accessories that enhance the overall biking experience. - **Lightweight Transport Solutions:** Demand for lightweight and compact devices to assist with transportation needs. ### Where This Applies - **Bicycle Manufacturing:** Incorporation of hands-free cyclist straps in bike designs to attract more customers. - **Outdoor and Sports Gear Retail:** Opportunity to offer Bike Lift and Carry as a convenient accessory for cyclists in retail stores. - **Urban Transportation:** Integration of lightweight transport solutions like Bike Lift and Carry into urban mobility systems. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Handlebar Bike Gear Clips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gear-clip.md) - [Car Roof-Mounted Hydraulic Lifts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ebikelifter.md) - [Ultra-Compact Bike Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hangar-connect.md) - [Motor-Assisted Bicycle Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motorassisted-bicycle-rack.md) - [Flexible Smartphone Carrying Straps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morf-strap.md) - [Dual Bike Repair Lifts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dual-bike-lift.md) - [Compact Cyclist Car Mounts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightbull-rack.md) - [Tubular Metallic Bike Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cargomate-bike-rack.md) - [Tire-Carrying Backpack Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bike-backpack.md)
