# Gonadal Bicycle Lights The Bike Balls Lights Look Like Male Reproductive Organs By Rahul Kalvapalle | Published 2015-05-15 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bike-balls References: [gizmag](http://www.gizmag.com/bike-balls-tail-light/37514/) & [kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bikeballs/bike-balls-bike-light) The Bike Balls are bicycle tail lights that are shaped like a pair of testicles, and swing merrily to and fro as you bike along. Developed by a pair of Toronto-based designers, these tail lights will catch motorists' attention and put a smile on their faces as well -- a rare occurrence given motorists tend to do *everything* but smile at cyclists they're sharing the road with. The Bike Balls consist of a waterproof [silicone sack](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/underaware) which contains a red LED module. Users can turn the device on and switch it between steady and flashing modes by squeezing a button on top. The device can be hung from the bike's saddles and secured using a zip-tie. These nutty bike lights are currently the subject of a [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bike-brake-lights) campaign that has long passed its fundraising target, so don't be surprised if you see these cheeky tail-lights bobbing around on a bike in front of you. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 92% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Bicycle Safety Innovations:** The Bike Balls introduce a unique and attention-grabbing design to bicycle tail lights, presenting an opportunity for companies to develop innovative safety products for cyclists. - **Humor in Product Design:** The Bike Balls' playful and cheeky design taps into the growing trend of humor-infused products, showcasing an opportunity for businesses to incorporate humor into their own product designs. - **Creative Advertising Strategies:** The Bike Balls' controversial and eye-catching appearance offers an opportunity for companies to explore unconventional advertising strategies that create buzz and capture attention. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Cycling Accessories:** The Bike Balls belong to the cycling accessories industry, where companies can leverage unconventional designs to stand out and attract customers. - **Outdoor Recreation:** The Bike Balls cater to the outdoor recreation industry, presenting an opportunity for businesses to develop unique and humorous products that enhance the enjoyment of outdoor activities. - **Promotional Products:** The Bike Balls can be considered as promotional products, opening up opportunities for companies to create attention-grabbing and memorable promotional items that leave a lasting impact. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Omnidirectional Bike Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vis-lightpool-taillight.md) - [Tech-Enhanced Safety Bike Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rear-bike-light.md) - [Lever-Triggered Bike Brake Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bike-brake-lights.md) - [Space-Saving Cyclist Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rydesafe-headtube-bike-light.md) - [Style-Conscious Cyclist Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/town-mouse-center-light.md) - [Cyclist Safety Light Projectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bike-safety-device.md) - [Synced Bike Light Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bike-light-system.md) - [Color-Changing Clipless Pedals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clipless-pedals.md) - [Rearview Radar Tail Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rearview-radar-tail-light.md)
