The 50-foot ‘Big Pinocchio’ statue has now found a permanent home in Tortoli, Italy (not a bad place to call home). The ‘Big Pinocchio’ statue is made out of iron and is of the [classic animated character](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pingu-set) lying on his side. The statue was added to the town when they began showing a retrospective of Alex Pinna's work. Definitely interesting to see such a [small animated character at 50-feet tall](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1)! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.7/10 - Popularity: 2% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Oversized Art Installations:** There is an opportunity for artists and cities to invest in and benefit from the attention-grabbing power of large-scale art installations like Pinocchio statue. - **Art as Tourism Attraction:** Large sculptures can be attractive tourism draw for different cities and countries, which can support the growth of related industries. - **Animation Reimagined:** Artists can explore more unconventional and unique methods of creating large sculptures using materials and designs beyond the traditional casting techniques. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Tourism:** Cities and countries with unique and creative art installations like Tortoli's Big Pinocchio statue can position themselves as a must-visit destination for travelers. - **Art and Design:** Sculptors, architects, and designers can explore the use of new technologies or methods to create larger-than-life art installations that can reshape the way people interact with art. - **Hospitality:** Hotels and resorts can leverage the power of art and invest in creating immersive art experiences to attract and entertain guests. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [30-Foot Tall Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/megasize-roxie.md) - [Anime Robot Replica Statues](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/59foottall-gundam.md) - [Oversized Baking Mascot Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pillsbury-doughboy-installation.md) - [Bow Tie-Wearing Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bow-tiewearing-sculpture.md) - [Iconic Bag-Inspired Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-birk.md) - [AI-Generated Statues](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-generated-statue.md) - [Spooky Life-Size Animatronics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beetlejuice-character.md) - [Interactive Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-kinetic-sculptures.md) - [Life-Sized LEGO Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/legoland.md)
