The spectacular structure will consist of a series of twists and turns that will draw museum visitors into its fold. The complex routes that form the BIG Maze will be initially difficult to discern as they will be hidden behind tall 5.5-meter walls. However, as visitors go deeper into the maze, the walls go shorter. Once they reach the heart of the maze, they are presented with a 360 degree panorama that reveals their escape route. The 345 square meter BIG Maze will be clearly visible from the museum’s second and third floor balconies, from where visitors can enjoy revealing view of the labyrinth below. “This distinctive maze offers our visitors a chance to physically interact with the work of a cutting-edge, international design firm,” says Chase Rynd, Executive Director of the National Building Museum. “It will be a great framework for exploring the exhibition later in the fall.” Photo Credits: [designboom](http://www.designboom.com/architecture/bjarke-ingels-group-big-maze-national-building-museum-04-04-2014/class=FourteenG), [big.dk](http://www.big.dk/class=FourteenG) ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 31% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Interactive Installation Art:** The BIG Maze is an example of how interactive installation art can create immersive experiences for visitors. - **Architectural Entertainment:** Installation mazes provide architectural entertainment that offers unique and thrilling experiences. - **Constructivist Design:** Constructivist Design allows complex mazes to be built safely indoors, offering creative design opportunities to architects. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** The architecture industry can explore innovative construction and material techniques for building immersive experiences through interactive installations. - **Entertainment:** The entertainment industry can leverage interactive installation art to create immersive experiences that merge digital and physical worlds. - **Tourism:** Tourism industry can utilize architectural entertainment and interactive art to drive tourism in the targeted location. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Brain-Like Labyrinths](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brash-collective.md) - [Brand-Backed Maze Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-maze.md) - [Paper-Inspired Artful Museums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/museum-for-papirkunst.md) - [Swooped Museum Roof Planes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suzhou-museum-of-contemporary-art.md) - [Modular Marble Mazes Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balance-maze.md) - [Kilometer-Long Museums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zaishui-art-museum.md) - [Maze-Inspired 3D-Printed Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/maze-lamp.md) - [Sustainably Built Public Attractions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/museum-of-exploration.md) - [Swirled Public Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tunnel-vision-installation.md)
