Designed by Juan Carlos Fanes, the pen tools have been created with a [clip-on aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eyeq-switchdisc) that will enable them to be placed and replaced as desired or required. This means that you can upgrade any [writing utensil](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zenith7-desk-pen) in a moment to keep them as functional as you like. The 'Bictools' come in several different design options including a ruler, compass, scraper, paper bender and much more to keep your equipment as functional as possible even when you're aren't jotting down notes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 53% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Clip-on Writing Utensil Tools:** Providing multifunctional tools directly on the end of a pen is a new trend that is offering users greater productivity and flexibility for various tasks. - **Pen Tools for Multiple Use:** Designing pen tools that cater to more than one function is an emerging trend, offering greater convenience and accessibility to users. - **Upgrading Writing Utensils with Add-ons:** The trend of designing clip-on accessories for pens is providing an opportunity for users to easily upgrade their writing utensils without having to buy new ones. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Office Supplies:** The office supplies industry can implement this trend by providing clip-on tools that enhance the functionality of their writing utensils. - **DIY Tools:** DIY tool manufacturers can incorporate this trend in their product line to extend the utility of writing tools for various creative and constructional projects. - **Stationery:** The stationery industry has an opportunity to offer customers versatile writing utensils by introducing pen tools that cater to more than one function. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Clipping Pen Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-clippen.md) - [Three-in-One Writing Utensils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tp-pen.md) - [Sculptural Writing Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/experimental-pencils.md) - [Minimalist Multitool Pens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pockitrod.md) - [10-in-1 Multifunctional Pens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multak.md) - [Multi-Functional EDC Tool Pens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edc-tool-pen.md) - [Magnetic Toy-Like Writing Utensils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetdabbles.md) - [Recycled Plastic Writing Utensils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mechanical-drop-pencil.md) - [Note Clip Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/note-clip.md)
