# Trampoline Coffee Tables Fun-ctional Furniture by Alberto Bonomi By Alex Covert | Published 2008-09-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beyond-functional-furniture-trampoline-coffee-table References: [ballerhouse](http://www.ballerhouse.com/2008/08/26/the-trampoline-coffee-table/) & [greenergrassdesign](http://www.greenergrassdesign.com/trampolinecoffeetablebyalbertobonomi.html) At first glance, the walnut-veneer-finished table looks like something you might see at a local coffee shop or your hip friend’s living room. Take another look though and you’ll see that the coffee table by Alberto Bonomi would be more at home in a fraternity house. The middle is missing and there is a miniature trampoline in its place. Why a fraternity? - “Quarters”. **Implications** - This trampoline-embedded coffee table can stow a mini trampoline between uses, which makes the piece ideal for [smaller spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookmarker-table) that have less closet space for unnecessary items. Alberto Bonomi doesn't indicate whether the mini trampoline can slide out from its [walnut veneer](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boia) housing for use. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 5% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Convertible Furniture:** The trampoline-embedded coffee table highlights the trend of convertible furniture that serves multiple purposes in smaller spaces. - **Space-saving Solutions:** The coffee table addresses the need for space-saving solutions in smaller living spaces by incorporating a mini trampoline that can be stowed away when not in use. - **Interactive Home Decor:** The integration of a trampoline into a coffee table showcases the trend of interactive home decor, where furniture invites playful engagement and interaction. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The coffee table presents an opportunity for furniture manufacturers to create innovative and functional pieces that maximize space utilization. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can explore the use of convertible furniture like the trampoline coffee table to enhance the functionality and visual appeal of smaller living spaces. - **Fitness and Recreation:** The incorporation of a mini trampoline into furniture opens up opportunities for the fitness and recreation industry to create unique and engaging workout equipment for home environments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Harmonious Helical Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vortex-coffee-table.md) - [Maximalist UFO Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flying-saucer-coffee-table.md) - [Artful Coffee Table Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vertushka.md) - [Paper-Like Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cocoon-coffee-table.md) - [Curvaceous Animalistic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookpet-coffee-table.md) - [Luxe Low-Slung Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/attraction-coffee-table.md) - [Spinning Storage Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-spinning-coffee-table.md) - [Bookshelf-Incorporated Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/overlap-table.md) - [Multifunctional Living Room Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aliving-coffee-table.md)
