# Order-Aiding Seating Beth's Chair Provides a Place on Which to Sit and to Sling Things By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-12-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beths-chair References: [miguelmestre.info](http://miguelmestre.info/) Chairs might generally be made to offer you a place to repose; however, how often do you find that you use them as a place to collect stray garments around the house? Beth's Chair has been designed in such a way that recognizes this common second purpose of the [standard piece of furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yay-chair) and offers several layers of rungs on which to hang your things. Miguel Mestre has extended the backrest of the perch, turning the object into a [whimsical-looking item](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edgeofyr). This panel is solid for about the first foot above the seat before it opens up to offer five rails and a [clothes hook](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multi-hanger) on one side. Beth's Chair has a great capacity to be used as a towel rack in the bathroom, a shelf in the bedroom or a coatrack in the foyer. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Multi-purpose Furniture:** Beth's Chair recognizes the need for furniture that serves multiple purposes, providing an opportunity for companies to create innovative designs that cater to different functions within a space. - **Space Optimization:** The design of Beth's Chair maximizes vertical space by incorporating rungs and hooks, presenting an opportunity for industries to create space-saving furniture solutions. - **Functional Design:** Beth's Chair showcases the importance of practical and functional design, inspiring industries to create furniture that offers convenience and organization. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The multi-purpose and space-saving features of Beth's Chair highlight opportunities for furniture manufacturers to create innovative and versatile seating options. - **Home Decor:** Beth's Chair's functional design can inspire the home decor industry to create furniture pieces that merge style and functionality, catering to the needs of modern consumers. - **Interior Design:** Beth's Chair presents an opportunity for interior designers to incorporate multi-functional furniture into their designs, allowing for optimized use of space and enhanced functionality in various spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Storage-Attached Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grid-chair.md) - [Posh Pet-Friendly Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-chair-design.md) - [Quirky Postmodern Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-ebba-armchair.md) - [Table-Equipped Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/migo-chair.md) - [Storage-Friendly Origami Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-kerf.md) - [Ultra-Simple Multifunctional Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chairpf.md) - [Dual-Purpose Camping Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chair-a.md) - [Hollow Multipurpose Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tailor-armchair.md) - [Antitheft Storage Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/afford-chair.md)
