Jet Blue is teaming up with [Yahoo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/email-management) and Blackberry to bring WiFi to airplanes next week when a plane called BetaBlue will fly from JFK to San Francisco offering passengers email access, and instant messaging. [FCC](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumen-technologies) regulations are very strict regarding this matter and there are still hurdles to be cleared.

**Implications** - The widespread adoption of [wireless Internet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/continuous-connectivity) and Web-enabled mobile devices has cultivated a dedicated market of tech consumers who aren't content to go offline -- even during a flight. Some carriers are offering Internet access during flights with a free or fee-based structure, but as our addiction to technology grows, this amenity will only continue to increase.
