With a colorful LED display and a [rotary number wheel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phone-3a), the user can register each digit the old fashioned way from a piece of 2015 technology. Set to launch in a few years' time, the Bessemer 'Samsung Jot' backtracks for people who are unhappy with the impersonal character of the contemporary cutting-edge. With a [detachable stylus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playful-phone-experimentation), it allows for text and numbers to be scribbled on the phone's face, which can be stored away as well as any other mobile phone, should you prefer to make a call using a single button. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 81% | Activity: 83% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Rotary Phone Revival:** The Raymond Bessemer 'Samsung Jot' demonstrates a trend towards reviving retro phone designs. - **Personalized Input:** The detachable stylus in the 'Samsung Jot' represents a trend towards personalized phone input methods. - **Nostalgia Tech:** The use of retro phone design in the 'Samsung Jot' hints at a trend towards nostalgia tech. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Mobile Devices:** The 'Samsung Jot' demonstrates potential for innovations in the mobile device industry by reviving retro designs. - **User Interface Design:** The detachable stylus in the 'Samsung Jot' could inspire innovations in user interface design for mobile devices. - **Consumer Electronics:** The trend towards nostalgia tech, as seen in the 'Samsung Jot,' has potential for disruptive innovation in the consumer electronics industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Swappable Keypad Cellphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sidephone-sp01.md) - [Retro Phone-Inspired Label Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintage-phone-labeling.md) - [Nostalgic Flip Phone Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nokia-n90.md) - [Flip Phone-Inspired Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-galaxy-z-flip5-retro.md) - [Millennium-Inspired Cellphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nokia-phones.md) - [Retro-Futuristic Cellphone Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/noka-7610-5g.md) - [Nostalgic Handheld Gaming Phones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/young-entertainer.md) - [Retro Messaging Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pippo.md) - [Nostalgic Colorful Flip Phones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/2660-flip.md)
