The stoneware strainer was handcrafted by designer Brian Kunkelman to bridge the gap between a strainer and a bowl. The Berry Buddy fuses form and function to give users a convenient way to [wash and serve](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eternos-serving-bowl) their fruits and berries. It features a [large bowl with holes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tip-top-glass) that allow water from the tap to exit the bowl. The water is then funneled to the spout of the dish and into the sink. In addition, the stoneware strainer features a large and comfortable handle to easily enable users to hold the dish directly under the tap. The Berry Buddy is perfect for washing and serving berries and also includes a lip to catch any excess water while the dish is set down. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 83% | Activity: 36% | Freshness: 9% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/kitchen) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Fruit-specific Kitchen Tools:** The market is ripe for innovative kitchen tools specifically designed for washing, straining, and serving fresh fruits and berries. - **Multi-functional Kitchenware:** Consumers are increasingly seeking kitchenware that can perform multiple functions, like the Berry Buddy's ability to act as both a strainer and a serving dish. - **Handcrafted Kitchen Accessories:** There is a growing appreciation for aesthetically pleasing, handcrafted kitchen accessories, like the artisanal Berry Buddy strainer. ### Where This Applies - **Kitchenware Manufacturing:** Innovative kitchenware manufacturers can capitalize on the demand for multi-functional, aesthetically pleasing kitchen tools, like the Berry Buddy dish. - **Eco-friendly Kitchen Products:** Eco-conscious consumers will appreciate products like the Berry Buddy, which offers a sustainable alternative to disposable plastic strainers. - **Healthy Eating Products:** As consumers continue to prioritize health and wellness, kitchen products that make it easier to eat fresh fruits and vegetables, like the Berry Buddy, are in high demand. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Display-Centric Dynamic Fruit Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/circuit.md) - [All-in-One Countertop Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/countertop-workstation.md) - [Mess-Avoiding Dipping Dishes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dipidup.md) - [Spill-Proof Kibble Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kibble-katcher.md) - [Conveniently Packaged Premium Fruits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fruit-snack-cups.md) - [Snackable Berry Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fruitist-snack-cups.md) - [Combination Modular Bottles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/berry-bottle.md) - [Minimalist Kitchen Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bio-fresher.md) - [Fruit-Squeezing Water Bottles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pressa-bottle.md)
