This Berlin penthouse by Lecarolimited proves that there is yet another way to simultaneously expose and section off a dynamic program. Without using screens or dividers, the studio opened up two whole sides of the apartment's first floor while concealing the bedroom and bathroom block for added privacy. Despite the openness along the length of the flat, there's an enclosing intimacy that breaks up the different functions of the space through the clever arrangement of the walls. As if this Berlin penthouse by Lecarolimited was not bright enough with its [floor to ceiling fenestration](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-64) on its perimeter, the architects installed a mesmerizing veneer of [distorted geometric mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bton-brut) that reflects light and an expansive spatial impression throughout the living areas. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.7/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 97% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Innovative Spatial Configurations:** Opportunities to explore alternative room layouts and designs that combine openness and privacy without using traditional dividers. - **Creative Wall Arrangements:** Potential for developing unique ways to break up space and define different functions through the arrangement of walls. - **Distorted Geometric Mirrors:** Possibilities for using mesmerizing mirror designs to reflect light and create an expansive spatial impression in living areas. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in reimagining spatial layouts and incorporating creative wall arrangements in interior design projects. - **Architecture:** Opportunities for architects to explore and experiment with alternative room configurations and incorporate distorted geometric mirrors for a unique spatial experience. - **Furniture Design:** Potential for furniture designers to create pieces that complement and enhance the innovative spatial configurations and distinctive wall arrangements highlighted in this penthouse design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Reflective Surface German Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kier-apartment.md) - [Bright Attic Sanctuaries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foksal.md) - [Curved Translucent Experimental Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptors-apartment.md) - [Redesigned Curved Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taichung-apartment.md) - [Bathroom-Centric Dubai Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bone-studio.md) - [Rectangular Golden Shimmering Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/golde-house.md) - [Mirrored Terrace Renovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/terrace-house-mirage.md) - [Smartly Designed Compact Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-apartments2.md) - [Box-Like Innovative Apartment Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/innovative-apartment-design.md)
