# Ancestral Animal Rap Portraits The Animal Rap Portraits by Berkley Illustrations are Cleverly Cute By Kristina Marković | Published 2014-03-10 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/berkley-illustrations References: [sadanduseless](http://www.sadanduseless.com/2014/02/well-dressed-animals-with-rap-quotes/) & [etsy](http://www.etsy.com/shop/berkleyillustration) The spoofed up animal rap portraits by Berkley Illustrations are accompanied with popular rap song quotes. The talented duo Ryan and Lucy from Portland, Oregon are behind Berkley Illustrations. The retro portraiture is inspired by their love for animals, pop culture quotes and rap lyrics. The hilarious rap quotes scribbled beneath the portraits just make them even more authentic and gag-worthy. The hand-drawn illustrations are done with markers and colored pencils. The only digitizing done is the background color. The portraits would make outrageously funny gifts and are available for purchase on [Etsy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tarotandreading). The animal rap portraits have popular rap lyrics accompanying them. One of the illustrations features a big bear with a mafia-inspired outfit on with Biggie Smalls lyrics saying, "Damn it feels good to be a gangster." Another knee-slapping one features a pipe-puffing panda bear and reads, "The Crown is mine because I drop ill rhymes." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Internet](https://www.trendhunter.com/internet) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Spoofed Animal Portraits:** The animal rap portraits by Berkley Illustrations showcase a trend of combining animals and popular rap song quotes in a clever and cute way, creating opportunities for humorous and personalized gift products. - **Retro-inspired Illustrations:** The hand-drawn retro-style illustrations of animal rap portraits highlight a trend of nostalgic aesthetics merged with contemporary references, presenting opportunities for unique art prints and merchandise. - **Humorous Pop Culture Mashups:** The fusion of animal portraits with humorous rap lyrics represents a trend of combining pop culture elements to create entertaining and shareable content, opening up possibilities for digital media collaborations and licensing deals. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can leverage the trend of spoofed animal portraits to create innovative merchandise, home decor products, and artwork that humorously integrates animals and popular culture references. - **Music Merchandise:** The music merchandise industry can tap into the trend of animal rap portraits with popular rap lyrics to develop unique and playful products targeting fans of hip-hop culture, such as apparel, accessories, and collectibles. - **Digital Media and Entertainment:** The digital media and entertainment industry can explore the trend of humorous pop culture mashups by collaborating with Berkley Illustrations to create engaging social media content, branded collaborations, and viral marketing campaigns. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Custom Rap Songs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paparap.md) - [Miniature Artful Hip-Hop Landmarks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/danny-cortes.md) - [Spooky Charming Pet Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crown-paw.md) - [Animal-Themed Streetwear Styles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cactus-plant-flea-market-1.md) - [Personalized AI Album Covers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-album-covers.md) - [AI Pet Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawmypet.md) - [Mom-Inspired Rap Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mamarap.md) - [Hip-Hop Craft Beer Collabs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beer-collab.md) - [Canine Hip-Hop Air Fresheners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/car-vent-air-freshener.md)
