# Triangulated Roof Designs The Beret House is Completed by Y+M Design Office By Jamie Danielle Munro | Published 2014-08-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beret-house References: [designboom](http://www.designboom.com/architecture/ym-design-office-beret-house-japan-08-14-2014/) & [ymdo.net](http://ymdo.net/) The 'Beret House,' a fittingly cute name for this quaint abode by Y+M Design Office, features an interesting roof that almost makes the structure appear as if it was wearing a cap. The roof wraps quite far down on each side of the house, providing the residences with the privacy they requested. While the abode is [situated near the mountains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mountainous-home) and not in a city, the owners still wanted to ensure that they were able to [retreat in peace to their home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avber-house). Due to the way the roof is shaped, the house has [covered outside areas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-house-with-an-inverted-roof) that can be easily accessed from inside, allowing individuals to take in fresh air without dealing with other people. The Beret House is meant for a smaller family who enjoys peace and quiet.
