# Quirky Upturned Reflectors The Bent Mirror by Anika Engelbrecht Peels Up to Grasp Your Possessions By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-12-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bent-mirror-by-anika-engelbrecht References: [designspotter](http://www.designspotter.com/product/2011/11/Bent.html) & [anika-engelbrecht](http://www.anika-engelbrecht.com/index.php?/work/bent/) Many of the activities one performs in front of a mirror involve accessories. From touching up your makeup and pinning back your hair, to slipping on your sunglasses and donning your lanyard, the Bent Mirror by Anika Engelbrecht leaves you well equipped. The flat borderless looking glass features rounded corners, a [colorful backing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jelly-mirror) and, most significantly, a curled lower lip. A ledge is formed by the bottom edge of the [wall-mounted mini vanity](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/innovative-bathroom-mirror) which creates a horizontal scoop to hold a range of small items. Cosmetics, spectacles, car keys and snacks might be conveniently placed upon the [short shelf](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-shelf), making the Bent Mirror by Anika Engelbrecht a truly handy piece of narcissistic ornamentation for any room in the house. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 5% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Multifunctional Mirrors:** Creating mirrors with additional storage or organizational capabilities to cater to the needs of users. - **Interactive Home Decor:** Developing home decor pieces that serve a functional purpose beyond their aesthetic value. - **Customizable Vanity Mirrors:** Designing mirrors with customizable features such as adjustable shelves or compartments to accommodate individual preferences. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Exploring innovative mirror designs that merge functionality with style to enhance interior spaces. - **Home Decor:** Providing unique and practical home decor solutions that offer convenience and organization. - **Personal Care Products:** Integrating mirrors into personal care products to offer users a convenient and accessible space for storing essential accessories. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Optical Illusion Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hooptical.md) - [Bifold Functional Storage Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabine-mirror.md) - [Geometrical Golden Ratio Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ascension-wall-mirror.md) - [Jewelry-Holding Flower Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirror-vase-stand.md) - [Wavy Dual-Action Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archvyli.md) - [Space-Saving Garment Care Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flip-dualfunction-ironing-board-mirror.md) - [Artful Hanging Contemporary Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ready-to-hang.md) - [Colorful Retro Pixel Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paint-mirror.md) - [Architecture-Inspired Compact Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/friedrich-mini.md)
