# Two-Dimensional Desk Illuminators The Bendino Lamp Flattens Traditional Light Appliance Designs By Jason Soy | Published 2011-12-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bendino-lamp References: [sweet-station](http://sweet-station.com/blog/2011/12/bendino-lamp/) & [sleekidentity](http://sleekidentity.com/products/detail/bendino-lamp-Martin-Konrad-Gloeckle-pulpo/) Most need a reliable light source on or around their work area, so why not get yourself a Bendino Lamp? That way you'll have an awesome conversation piece in addition to illumination. The Bendino Lamp is different from its peers in that it has the form of a [traditional lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/takeout-lamp), but is [completely flat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tsubomi). Users will only have a silhouette of the light appliance they're used to, but the lamp itself is standing on the [strength of its steel alone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape). It's as though something out of the two dimensional world of cartoons somehow managed to permeate the real world. The Bendino Lamp comes in four color varieties: magenta, green, white and black. Because of its circular base, the Bendino Lamp will also be difficult to knock over. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Two-dimensional Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunities: Developing new lighting concepts and designs using two-dimensional shapes and flat designs. - **Minimalist Home Office Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunities : Creating a new range of flat, minimalist, and innovative lighting fixtures for home offices and workplaces. - **Cartoon-inspired Designs:** Disruptive innovation opportunities: Creating products with designs inspired by cartoons, making them unusual and visually appealing. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunities: Creating innovative and visually appealing lighting fixtures for home and office furniture. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities: Developing two-dimensional lighting concepts and other design elements for interior design projects. - **Office Supplies:** Disruptive innovation opportunities: Designing flat, minimalistic, and innovative lighting fixtures for home and office workspaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Flexible Workstation Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archflex-desk-lamp.md) - [Multifunctional Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-boring-lamp.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Dynamically Customizable Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/illum-desk-light.md) - [Sophisticated Productivity Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/benq-mindduo-2-table-lamp.md) - [Ultra-Flexible Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anywhereuse-lamp.md) - [Customizable Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hilight-r9-desk-lamp.md) - [Minimal Aesthetic Light Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-light.md) - [Weighted Multi-Position Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-desk-lamp-design.md)
