The bendable smartphone prototype offered by Royole does not have an official name yet, but some early specs of the phone indicate impressive features. The phone will most likely utilize Royole's existing touchscreens, which offer a sharp 200-to-300 pixel per inch density. Users will be able to operate the phone in a standard static fashion or wrap it around their wrists and use it in the same way as a smartwatch. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.8/10 - Popularity: 98% | Activity: 99% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Inventions](https://www.trendhunter.com/inventions) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Bendable Smartphone Technology:** There is a disruptive innovation opportunity for companies to develop bendable smartphone technology, allowing for flexible phone designs. - **Foldable Phone Designs:** The emergence of foldable phone designs presents a disruptive innovation opportunity for companies to create versatile and adaptable smartphones. - **Wearable Phone Technologies:** The integration of wearable phone technologies, such as wraparound devices, provides a disruptive innovation opportunity for companies to blend the functionalities of smartphones and smartwatches. ### Who This Affects Most - **Telecommunications:** The telecommunications industry can explore the potential of bendable and foldable smartphone designs to revolutionize the way mobile devices are used and experienced. - **Consumer Electronics:** In the consumer electronics industry, there is an opportunity to develop and market innovative bendable and wearable smartphone technologies to cater to the evolving demands of tech-savvy consumers. - **Mobile Technology:** The mobile technology industry can leverage the advancements in bendable, foldable, and wearable phone technologies to drive transformative changes in the design and functionality of mobile devices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Flexible Folding Concept Phone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flex-in-out-flip.md) - [Malleable Wearable Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motorola-adaptive-display-concept.md) - [Fully-Flexibile Monitor Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flexible-display-campus.md) - [Automatically-Expanding Phone Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollable-screen-smartphone.md) - [Script-Like Foldable Display Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollable-flex.md) - [Tri-Fold Mobile Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-galaxy-trifold.md) - [Rollable Phone Screen Patents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huawei-rollable.md) - [Folding Wrap-Around Smartphone Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-galaxy-z-series.md) - [Wacky Design Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playful-phone-experimentation.md)
