Robrecht Vanhauwere's idea was to think a dimension beyond the [iPad](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moft-dynamic-folio), producing a touch-sensitive display that can be folded beyond 90 degrees. Proposed for [Samsung](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-galaxy-fold-mini-concept), this cutting-edge device has a metal frame that's doubled over, enabling you to prop it up in one of two orientations. Facilitating easy tabletop interaction or upright video-watching, the innovative gadget has another neat function up its sleeve. You could actually peel the screen of the Bend tablet away from its stiff border, releasing the pliant surface to rest it in front. With this setup, you can use the touchscreen flap as a transparent keyboard, solidifying this hypothetical product as a great all-in-one gizmo. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 84% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Flexible Touchscreen Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new applications and devices that leverage flexible touchscreen technology for enhanced user experiences. - **Foldable Devices:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create foldable devices that offer versatile and compact form factors, enabling new modes of interaction and convenience. - **Transparent Keyboards:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the potential of transparent keyboards integrated into flexible devices for seamless user input and enhanced portability. ### Where This Applies - **Consumer Electronics:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate flexible touchscreen technology and foldable designs into consumer electronics products to attract tech-savvy consumers. - **Tablet Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Revolutionize the tablet manufacturing industry by developing self-propping pliable tablets with innovative form factors and versatile functionalities. - **Digital Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design and produce transparent keyboards as innovative digital accessories that complement flexible touchscreen devices and enhance user productivity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Transforming Tablet Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-galaxy-fold-mini-concept.md) - [Flexible Folding Concept Phone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flex-in-out-flip.md) - [Script-Like Foldable Display Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollable-flex.md) - [Bendable Display Laptop Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hp-spectre-fold.md) - [Tri-Fold Mobile Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-galaxy-trifold.md) - [Multipurpose Lifestyle Tablets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iscream-homelearn-book.md) - [Dual-Kickstand Interactive Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-folio.md) - [Briefcase-Like Flexible Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flexible-briefcase.md) - [Malleable Wearable Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motorola-adaptive-display-concept.md)
