The [shelving system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelving-unit-01) is constructed using a series of durable materials including plywood, [exposed steel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sfso-1) and Formica laminate for the finish to prioritize a durable overall silhouette. The unit is rated for placement virtually anywhere in the home and can also come apart to let the individual pieces be used as seats to encourage a person to interact with it for a personalized touch. The Bend Shelf by Spenser Atlas maintains a somewhat industrial profile that would also work well within modern offices for storing essentials and providing additional seating when required.
